“The whole album is a breath of fresh air for the punk scene. I think even the most jaded punks can enjoy these pop punk songs, because what they are about is very genuine and universal.” — Bring on Mixed Reviews

Here are 10 tracks i’ve been spinning recently. I usually make a huge Autumn/Winter playlist for this time of year which i maybe should have written about but i figured i’d point you in the direction of some great jams that aren’t associated with leaves and snow. Enjoy. - Murray Macleod

I am not sure what connects all these songs, but in the past couple year(s) I have enjoyed all these songs to the utmost. Looking at the list i think it is often the unique voices that have draw me to them. some really good line that someone plays or sings also attracts me to these songs, i think. I look for some meatiness in a tune and i think these songs are like delicious meatballs! - Travis Shettel

Rancid – As Wicked

‘…And Out Come The Wolves’ makes me want to drink as much as I can, puke my guts up and then smash something on my way out of the door. Favourite song from a time-defeating album.
The Bronx – White Guilt
Instant good vibes. Soundtrack to beers, smokes and days of nothing.
Lifetime – Haircuts and T-shirts *Song is currently not on Spotify
Travelling song. Banger. The whole self-titled record rules.
The Menzingers – Sunday Morning
After seeing them play this in Kingston, I took Greg aside and gushed to him how much I love this song and how I hope I can write a song about family life one day.
I Am The Avalanche – Holy Fuck
I listened to this album for the first time expecting something a bit dreary, but this – the opening song off it – blew my fucking head off.
Crazy Arm – Little Boats
Crazy Arm are one of those bands that put everything into perspective for me. Underrated? Maybe. But everyone I know loves them.
SHARKS – Sweet Harness
Another awesome English band. I once went to their hometown of Leamington Spa on a canal boat holiday. I wish I knew them at the time so they could have joined us on deck for a smoke-out.
Sam Russo – Letting Go *Song is currently not on Spotify
Sam and I were on tour together when he wrote this song. One night him, Jim Hull (from Leagues Apart) and myself went to stay round Russo’s girlfriend’s house in Holloway. We got there and nobody answered the door. All our phones’ batteries had drained and we didn’t have £2 between us. We were stranded, so we spent a night sitting on the steps of Big Red. Listening to this song always takes me back there.
Weezer – The World Has Turned And Left Me Here
Rivers Cuomo showed the world the best songs are written with four chords.
Dave Hause – C’mon Kid
The bouncy radness of this has a similar vibe to some Third Eye Blind songs. And – as everyone on earth knows - TEB fucking rule. I dig it. - Giles Bidder

Hey friends. I wanted to let you know that we have more shows coming up than listed (ones outside of the tri-state/NY area). We’ve just been struggling with our van situation. Also, I am sorry about being the new P+P when it comes to mail order. Sorrrrrrrry. x 1000.

Late Night Sing-Alongs: Review: Candy Hearts - Everything's Amazing and Nobody's Happy → latenightsingalongs.com

Review by Troy Sennett

The world needs more bands like Candy Hearts. In a time when substance too often takes a back seat to style, this New Jersey group’s sweet songs have the bouncy, infectious quality of the first records that catch your ear as a kid and the melodies to back it…

This is a really nice review. Thanks!

PropertyOfZack and Kind Of Like Records are very excited to be announcing a special show on October 19th in Brooklyn, NY. Daytrader, Aficionado, Candy Hearts, Great Cynics, TS & The Past Haunts (ft. Travis Shettel of Piebald) and Murray Macleod (of The Xcerts) will all the playing the jam-packed show. We’ll be hosting the night at The Acheron, so make sure to get there early because it’s a small space!

Few words can describe my excitement for this. Does Travis Shettel know his band was the only reason I ever went to Warped Tour?
